Headed down to Ashbridges Bay earlier in the week to check the salmon migration from the south side and were not disappointed. On the water at 630am, lines set 7am, 4 rod spread, two rigggers, a dipsy and a 10 colour lead, which we ended up pulling shortly after as we couldn’t keep up with 3 let alone 4.
All 3 other rods took hits, with the higher fish coming on meat and flies behind two faced SD. The other hits were on spoons, anything orange seemed to be the ticket spoon wise.
We fished from 45’ down to 95’ over 130-180 fow. Lots of hooks and chasers but only one bait ball all morning. Ended the day 15/19 with two of the fish being bows, a couple coho and the rest kings. Our 4 biggest kings were each 20 +. Nice to see some bigger fish showing up with the GOSD only a week away.
