Hey guys, was just wondering as I have read a lot of different things. If I'm storing my boat in the garage for the winter, are axle stands necessary? It's only a 17 foot aluminum with a 75hp on a single axle trailer, so I can't imagine it's heavy by any means. I've just read a ton of different opinions on multiple sites, so just wanted to hear everyone's opinion on here.
Also, if the majority opinion is axle stands, should I raise one side at a time, or is it ok to jack the whole thing at once from the center

Thanks Lima, I kind of had a feeling it was ok on the trailer, since like you said, the trailer was meant to support the weight, just wanted a few extra opinions to be sure.

I used to jack them up, but got hurt one year and couldn't do it. The next spring didn't notice any difference so never jacked them up again. That been 15years now. But as stated if a tire goes flat you would want to get it fixed or that would wreck the tire I'm sure.

Thanks guys, much appreciated. So just one last thing, if I decide to leave the trailer off jacks, keep the tires fully inflated and give it a rock back and forth every now and then to keep things moving, I'm assuming everything will be all Good?

Don't jack up the middle of the axle. They can bend or cave in ,I've seen them come into my shop like that lots of times. I wouldn't bother with the stands either.

Thanks for the advice guys, really appreciate it, think I'm gonna just leave it as is. I'll just make sure the tires have an adequate amount of air throughout the winter and it'll be fine.

The worst enemy of trailer tires is being parked on soil. Mine spends it's life in my yard other than splash and haul out days. The rest of the year, it's parked on 2x8 planks.

If that's the case, mine should be ok. Except for driving back and forth to the water, it stays parked on gravel or asphalt.
