What to do with Tresspassing A__HOLES, Tresspassers

Strange , no one here was talking about snowmobile clubs, and no I don't need to know how they feel.. BIG difference here, obviously you do not own any considerable amount of land or you would know that people that trespass put property OWNERS (not trail access permit), at massive risk for lawsuit.
If you don't know I can educate you on the fact that even posted or NOT, if someone gets hurt on my property no matter what action they are doing I am at risk of being sued. I am not covered under a trail permit. Completely different than IMPLIED access because you have a trail pass. I do not permit the public to access my land so this is completely different than a snow/atv trail!!

Its about trespassing. And I do own a significant amount of land and I'm a director of a snowmobile club. So give me credit for my opinion.


This thread is about trespassing plain and simple. It comes in all forms. Not sure someone trespassing would ever be awarded a settlement if they were breaking the law. As long as you took reasonable steps to post your property and mitigate the dangers.

Heck, I've even had trail cameras stolen on my own property.

Trespassers are a plague; no matter when its happening.

Well Sir if you actually are a land owner of land than you should know that you are responsible for your land 100% of the time/. You are responsible to make it safe for trespassers 365 days. If they fall and break A LEG you sir ARE LIABLE !! And yes courts award damages all the time!! I see it and hear it all the time that's why Lawyers make so much money.
The only thing I agree with you is that yes trespassers are a plague. However it is NOT the same as implied access through a trail. My backyard is not implied access like a snowmobile trail! That's my point that you do not realize!
I would assume that you have never been sued personally for liability? If you have you would know that they make money by getting injured on your land. Heck people do it on purpose to make a buck...
Protect your land out there people and make sure you have a minimum of $3 million liability insurance!!! If you have a pond on your property keep people off, its not worth loosing everything your have!!! There are plenty of judges that award idiots settlement everyday, to trespassers. Posted or not!!

Not defending them...but sometimes if your property butts against public land, sometimes the property lines are not clear. Just saying...

Just saying, it's the ignorant and non caring ones that should make themselves aware they are and where the boundaries are. Nothing like stopping in and asking politely.

This reminded me of a story years ago... we might of trespassed but still don’t know. We were invited to scout 1000 acres up near nip. It backed into 10,000 acres of crown land. The four of us were on ATV. Decided to hop logs, bulldoze small trees, and venture. We got so lost in the thick bush and could not find a way out. From 5pm to midnight we ran circles and had no compass. Cell did not work. Not sure who’s property it was that we popped out of. But I was just happy to find a road! You can say it was our responsibility to know where we are... I agree. But once you are lost.... holy sh1t.... nothing really matters then... I don’t care if I drove over your house to get home!

Again... people who purposely trespassing are horrible. Something extra you just got to deal with and can be annoying if it is weekly.

I do go out hunting in the crown lands up north of bobcageon in the bass lake road area for grouse mainly - and you really got to be careful up there. lots of hunt camps and lots of no hunting or trespassing signs.

I do my research and map out where im able to be and even so - people seem to be very curious.. I've had people follow me around on ATV's and even check out my parked car on the road. (I always make sure to leave a note on my windshield for these types)

Kinda playing the devils advocate here but i've seen signs saying no hunting or trespassing up there on crown land areas i've mapped out.. which can easily confuse the common man - hence the reason for the signs being spray painted? just a thought, but regardless seemingly ignorant.

Anyways theres a super fine line between a great steward of nature, a lost hunter and an inconsiderate a hole.. unfortunately the latter ruins it for everybody.

These as_HOLES were sitting on my property waiting for deer to come to them as there party was pushing another private piece of property towards them!!!

After doing more research this one is black and white these two AS_HOLES were sitting on my property waiting for there group to do a push from another piece of private property. There is no crown land near by its all private. They new dam well they were trespassing. They just don't care. Catch me if you can mentality..

Chuckling . I have a 100 ft long brick and block building out front with a 6 car garage attached to that and my house just behind that . Ahhh the stories I can tell .

When you get to beyond my garage you best come to my front door first and knock or I'm a snapping and snarling . You have no business in parking out in front of my shop either without permission .

Response I get often is " they didn't know it was PRIVATE ". Even had a few wandering around behind my garage saying they thought my driveway with 6 ft high plowed snow banks was Highway # 11 .

Like I tell them all this just dropped out of the sky delivered by aliens . Best one yet I saw truck parked at garage and somebody got out and went around the corner where my office is . I go out and ask what they want . Lad says he didn't know it was PRIVATE . The standard . LOL

I started snapping and he said his gal needed a pee and was around side of building . I said lots bush on this road to stop at or if he had knocked on door I would have let them in for her to go but don't make the claim you didn't know it was PRIVATE . My house is even there geez . Anyways after they left I was cutting grass . And beside my office she left me not only her soiled toilett paper but also her used you know " sanitary pad ". Gawd dammit . Now I have to pick that up too before cutting it with the mower .

Did have one awhile back . Was a car full of seniors . I asked if they needed help and reply was NO . Were just snooping they said . LMAO Yes we laughed . I said no prob atleast you are honest . LOL Then I got the drill what the building is for . I said well all locals know we ran a family flooring company out of it for many many years but some have asked if it was a school, a grow-op or even a Fellowship Church . LOL Now anybody who knows me and has heard me snap knows better than to ever think I'm holding Church Meetings here .

No its not a grow op either . LOL It's mostly my storage , my dog training area when not plugged full and my bow range . Its my second man cave too with a popup trailer set up with beer fridge, tunes and beds etc . LOL Keep it on low heat for my boat in winter .


Yup I know trespassers from the bush country right up to my house . I like my personal space and welcome friends but ….. if it's invaded without permission things get LOUD fast LOL
