I'm currently visiting my daughter in Tampa for a couple of weeks until the day after Thanksgiving. I always plan one day with a guide for some bass fishing. His name is Dick Loupe and used to have a TV show during the hay day of bass fishing shows like Bill Dance, Roland Martin, Orlando Wilson, Jimmy Houston, etc. in the 70's and 80's.
He was going to take me back to Kissimmee like he usually does, but that lake has been drawn down by about 3 feet. So the areas where we normally would go are now only 1-2ft deep. So he took me to a small lake in the centre of Lake Wales. Not very big and not very deep, but there's a ton of fish in this little lake and not much fishing pressure for being in the middle of town.
We managed to boat 36 bass during a 7 hour period immediately prior to a strong cold front. Mostly caught on a medium running chocolate and chartreuse crank bait with others caught on a 10" black worm, swim bait and shiners. Nothing bigger than the one shown (3.9lb), but a ton of fun. Now I'm so worn out I'm not even going to play golf tomorrow!!
