Mysself...I do not think this will ever get passed in the current form...
This is known as the classic....hey, we tried to establish a hunt, but it failed, so don't pester us for another 2 decades or so
I mean, really, shoot 50 and just leave them..not going to happen
I so hope I am wrong on this
It'll pass.....eventually. Classic bargaining position aim high settle in the middle. Same thing they did with the revamped pheasant limit. Aimed for 10 a day province wide. I suspect to satisfy weekend hunters who can release up to 10 birds on their own property but could only shoot 3 a day. Settled for no change in the southern 1/3 however further north its 10 a day.

FYI - I just got a notice that this has now been PASSED. Limit of 15 birds. Season Sept 15 to Dec 31. Birds must be collected after shooting.
There are other specific requirements. So, Please everyone do your own review of the new Regs and the new season, requirements for hunting them legally, etc... After that, go gettem (starting Sept)

I will definitely abide bye the rules and bring them all home , skin out the breasts and that %&*$#%!! boss of mine that has been asking for years for a couple of ducks. Is getting a bag full of them this fall! Hee hee

I don't think this hunt is going to help much. These birds are smart and tend to stay away from people and they haven't really been shot at, too much. it will be nice to shoot the odd one that does come into range though. over the years I have seen a few shot by people thinking they were geese. From a distance they do resemble a goose. I remember 2 years ago I was hunting with a guy, in the distance I saw a bird flying didn't know what it was, his eyes better than mine, he said "its a dead cormorant" he was correct as it came right it and somehow it never left.
