How is the ice looking at bear point? Coming up in a few weeks and renting a sleeper. We were thinking about going for perch after around there. Can you perch fish around bear point?

I think you might have better luck with expired lottery tickets. Another good indicator of what's to come is Wind or More Wind Unless there's a multi day cold snap, whatever is there will get blown to the east side in about 10 minutes, unfortunately.

Ya, I remember a few years ago that happened and made a major mess of lumpy ice surfaces that was a real disaster to try and walk on. But, hope for the best is all you can do for now.

As far as I heard, BP Huts were getting their huts out, I would believe that after last nights brass balls cold there will be guys fishing out there. Maybe you can slide down Billy Goat hill in your kayak, Going back up, well that could be interesting.

Update, just got msg from BP Huts, they're not set up yet, a few more days to go. Hopefully by wednesday, got the itch myself.
