Great looking lures:) I just bought a belt sander for the exact same thing. I'll be making some topwater's as well. Just curious, where did you get the eye screws, and what size did you use? The only ones I could find, were some with a short threaded end. Also, if you don't mind, What kind of paint are you using? Thanks, Scott

Hey Scott. On a few of my lures I made my own eye screws from stainless steel wire, but the eye screws I'm getting from a site called luremaking.com. I set them in 2 part epoxy , the paint is just acrylic paints from Michael's with a clear epoxy coating once the paint has dried for a day.

I know of a guy who Charters for Musky and makes his own lures and often has more success with them. I'm sure there is a great deal of pride in making the lure that caught the fish and makes you feel more connected with nature and your catch.
I see this becoming very popular. The big lure companies would not like it so much, but would start to make kits where you can create your own lure.

Yes there is a good sense of satisfaction catching on a homemade lure. I love starting from scratch and not following any kind of pattern. Just go with what's in my head and h0owever it turns out it turns out.
