In the market for a new boat this year and I was wondering if the Toronto Boating show is worth the hassle? Its 20$ to get in and apparently there's good deals on last years models, anyone know if that's true? (I think i'm sold on the 2018 1875 Impact XS with a 150 Merc) Is the show worth the hassle to drive into downtown Toronto??

I would go if I were in the market for a new boat... all boats on display in 1 place... boat show sale pricing... you might just find something that suits you better... you never know unless you go!

If I was spending that much on a new boat I would definitely go. Lund’s are great but you will have lots to compare it to. You might be able to negotiate a good price on the last day if the sales didn’t go well over the weekend. Or go the first day when the biggest selection of older models might still be around. Be careful of buying display models. Some of the latches/hatches can get abused at the shows. Remember everything is negotiable. Always ask them to throw something else in to sweeten the deal. Good luck!

Yeah, that's a great point. I will make sure to check it out.

If you are shopping... the TBS is the best place to go.
Gives you a chance to look at competitive models to the Lund.
Lund’s are beautiful boats, but be sure to take a look at Alumacraft. I shopped both and found the AC had better features for me personally, and fit and finish was just as good... for about 10-15% less cost. Oh, and the option to go Yammy without being penalized like Lund/Merc was important as well.
BRP and Alumacraft merged last year, so no idea if they are going the “preferred” motor route now though.
The good folks over from Advanced Marine should have a booth. They are the ones that I purchased from. Good people, and happy to recommend them.
Jordan is the Sales Manager and I would expect will be onsite. If you stop by to chat with him, mention me - John (FishnDirty), and you’ll get a free boat!
