Sorry for the rant but here goes. Are you guys/ gals finding it impossible to drive the fast lane. Now I’m not a speed demon by any means but wouldn’t mind going faster then 110. Daily there is some weenie just cruising that lane with frustrated drivers in tow. Some days I understand the mindset of road rage.
Trust me on this one you are not alone. And worse, nowadays when u flash your beems at people going slow in the fast lane they dont even move out of the way any more. They are more likely to flip you off then move over which if you have the anger problems I do drives you even more nuts. I mean the audacity to be in the wrong but then give me a look as I'm forced to pass you in a non passing lane....
Secondly I dont think our police are helping this. When i drive in the states i notice that people get pulled over for doing this. But here it seems to be just fine. To me it's dangerous and causes accidents, if you are passing someone on thier right as someone else is coming into that lane.... bad news. At the very least causing other people to break which then eventually causes traffic.
And I fear it's not even getting better. I've been noticing driving school cars driving on a 2 lane road slow in the left lane. I mean have they changed the rules since I went 20 years ago or is the right lane still the driving lane and the left the passing lane? How can they be teaching people how to drive the wrong way and expect to improve our drivers?

Hey Fork, you’re way better at expressing your point of view then me. Thanks for your 2 cents. With inflation it’s worth $1.50. Cheers bro.....

You guys are great. You condone breaking a section of the H.T.A while b####ing about someone else who's breaking a different section. There is only only one set of rules. When enough people break them at one time you get to play with anonther set of rules the laws of physics. As a pro driver driving a unit that weights 39000kgs I wish all of you would read them. If there were as many accidents in your place of work as there are in mine you might think differently. Rant over! Share the road it's not just yours!

i hope you saw the sarcasm in that i know your frustration all too well driving all of the highways from windsor to kingston owen sound to ft erie every day just to get to work I've all but given up getting mad now i laugh at how they just keep getting better/worse (better at being bad ) i see people reading books eating soup texting texting and more texting watching porn on their phone etc etc etc ive come to the realization that only certain vehicles come with signals and my huge truck has some sort of invisibility cloak around vehicles without signals i drive so much i get to experiment with fuel economy safe speeds etc i used to drive 110 in the far right lane but it became too dangerous to pass big rigs (people passing up the middle lane to get around nuts in the passing lane doing 119 )i tried only driving 120 which is as fast as i prefer to go, the problem is you've got half the nuts going 149.5 and the other half doing 115 making it unsafe to do anything in between (130 being the point at which if your vehicle came to an instant stop the seat belt would do more harm than good btw) the reason people don't leave the fast lane is they're going too quick for the centre land and don't want to have to hit the brakes when they can't get back into the passing lane (the me first attitude ) so your damned if you do and damned if you don't anyway i forget were im going with this oh yeah the trick is to just do everything as by the book as possible and hope it rubs off on a couple of them
oh and fork .... flashing your brights at people sounds like something a toyota corolla driver would do

eating soup texting texting and more texting watching porn on their phone etc

First of all the the porn thing was only one time hahaha
Secondly I'd say it's more of a BMW thing or a souped up older Honda flashing thier lights. Toyota Corolla drivers are gripping the wheel with both hands as hard as they can and only looking straight ahead. If they wont even look on thier blind spot before they turn theres no way they're capable ofand flashing thier lights

We can also talk about the parking people are dmap good at. Here we have it Easter Saturday which is a very busy day to be at a grocery store and this half with decided to take up 2 lanes. I was sure to block him in so that he would have to go through the passenger side to get in to his car. I took a pic just in case I came out and found my truck keyed or dented. Even though I'm inside my lines and he's the dick for taking up 2. I know this is at 2 wrongs dont make a right situation but enough is enough. Maybe next time this guy/girl will be courteous and park like a normal human being. Also I didn't like being over on the left because I was coming on to the next parking space. So I was sure to go back after I took this picture and move even closer to the right.

I always park way back and walk and watch the people drive around 3 times trying to find a parking spot 10 feet closer. I cant imagine someone is going to wait around to tell me they clipped my truck. That's why i miss sears.....they always had an empty lot to park.
On an unrelated note I agree with 4 trax there's only one set of rules to follow (I'm assuming we're talking about the kumite?)

So I drive the entire GTA and surrounding areas every day for a living. Sometimes I cross the GTA three times a day or on occasion more.
Here is my take. Patience Patience Patience.
Even tough I was taught in driving class the left hand lane is for passing it is not in the highway traffic act. All lanes of the highway are driving lanes. I wish the left was a passing lane but it is not. The HOV lanes are also NOT passing lanes. They are High Occupancy Vehicle lanes. This includes buses driving exactly 100km/h. The reality is people are taught differently today from their driving courses and some people are just self-centered pricks. (Mostly driving BMW’s lol). Also today the traffic volume is so massive and the 401 is the number one highest volume of traffic in the world. It’s amazing we even get anywhere at all with the volume of traffic the 401 gets.
Drive patiently. Let people in and wave when people let you in. Alway let all large vehicles in like transports. Transport drivers need the most help as they need a ton of room to merge and accelerate.

Here is my take. Patience Patience Patience.
I think this is the key. Excellent post Disco. I also think that this could help add a couple years to your life. The hustle and bustle and high stress caused by living in Southern Ontario cannot be good for your longevity.
To take this topic a little further. I was at Costco yesterday and just walking in the front door can be a challenge at times. They hand out the flyer showing sale items at the door. The guy in front of me has to stop right in the middle of the entrance and look it over. Oblivious to those around him and that he is blocking the entrance. So patience would have come in handy there too.
