My fishing buddy and I are looking for a change of scenery from Simcoe and were thinking of heading up towards Port Severn next week. Can anybody recommend a boat ramp or marina in the area? I don't mind paying for a good ramp, if you have any info on cost, that would be good too. I'm not sure if we want to be on the lake side or the waterway side of the lock, I guess it will depend on the wind, but would appreciate info on both sides so we have options so we don't have to go through the lock.

Thanks.

They are aware of that they were looking for an alternate spot to launch above locks where it is more sheltered in inclement weather thanks for the directions to bridgeview, the sons not that bad!!

maybe the son was just having a bad day when he told me $20.00 in & $20.00 out if not the same day. My son cottage is just around the point off Forest Harbor I was going to keep the boat in all that weekend. Sorry if I upset you for calling the lad a di k head. I don"t want to mess up no ones day.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys. We ended up launching and staying at Musky's after finding out that we could get a room overnight and launching included for $79, and $10 to dock the boat overnight. Worked out OK, although the weather didn't cooperate, it was beautiful and sunny, but windy as heck, chasing off the bay on Wednesday afternoon. Thursday morning was better, and we moved over into the bay off of Robin's Point. Couldn't seem to find any walleye, or even pike for that matter, although a few small Largemouth bass were hungry. These went right back in. And quite a few perch, many which could have been considered keepers, but not what we were after, so back they went too. A few gobies rounded out the catch.

Holy freakin' rocks in that whole area. When trolling, and in a chop, I noticed a funny looking wave break just ahead of us, and veered to the side just to pass a huge rock jutting up just below the surface. It is on the charts, but not marked on site. Just on a line from Canary Island over to Juanita Point.

Pretty much stayed close to the channel buoy's after that.

Next time we go up that way, I will likely launch and fish on the upper side of the lock and see how we do.
