I know it's even worse than asking for fishing spots but what general area are they in Smilee? First time looking for them the other day and I found a total of one lol. Not sure if it's early or not a great spot.

I poked around a few spots and no morells yet for me this year. I found fields of leeks which are not ready to harvest yet but no morells.

C E , I usually find mine in woodlots w/ maple, beech, popular trees. Also look around dead trees w/ the bark falling off. Over grown fence rows can bo productive also. But....... Who am I to say.......I haven't found any yet!!! Usually find enough for a meal or two every year. Good luck fungi hunting!! 🙂

With all the moisture in the ground now all we need is some heat.

just curious as I have never found any, never really looked either. How do you harvest them, cut at ground, pull, I have no idea. Would like to know so if I ever do run across some I know how to handle them and not wreck the spot.

Nice job.. Good picks

I checked last Friday and there was nothing. Looks like I should check again.

I just cut the stalk 1 inch from the shroom head. But they don't seem to come up a new from the stalk, they just pop up again nearby.
