Hey all fellow fisher peeps.
Looking for advice on what new riggers to get. Do mostly fishing in Georgian bay from Wasaga Beach to Owen Sound in a 19ft Legend.

Any thoughts and ideas and why you like certain kinds be great!!

Thanks and Tight Lines!!!

I use 2 Scotty’s. They go down FAST and come up easy. I use 12LB Sharks that track great. My sonar picks them up so I know where they are. All I need now is some good size Salmon but I will have to work on that some more.

"MANUAL" for real "MEN". (Wait 'til you're older and in need for power assist.)

Scotty electrics all the way. You wont find a better rigger.

The reality is that you don't really have a lot of brand choices. Big Jon, Scotty, and Cannon (Walkers are pretty much gone).
Cannon seems to win often in the performance/features rating. Big Jon are labelled as expensive. Scotty has good customer service.

I just finished switching over to Scotty. They are fast up and use less power (good if a smaller boat). Drawback initially is for the "one-man" user; by yourself in a chop, it's hard to work the rigger and steer the boat -- two places at once! -- they don't operate hands-free. They are also large units -- with a couple on the back of the average boat, you look like a "travelling lawnmower salesman"!

Good luck with the search.

I have a set of walkers, one but has cannons, supper fast, and another has scotty, awsome rigger..if i could spend some monsy again id buy scotty, or the cannons, leani g towards scotties, the speed of these units will help since fishi g owen sound most fishing takes place 30 to 200ft of water..

I have run Big Jon's since 1974. Highly durable and reliable. However, if I ever replace my current Big Jon electrics it would be Scotty for sure. Made in Canada, great service, incredibly fast and strong. My son runs the High Performance Scotty's and they are unbelievably fast and powerful. The sole problem he's experienced was with counters but a call to Scotty resulted in immediate replacements.

Yup, awesome awesome riggers. Too rich for my blood. I run a pair of Scotty 1116s. Great riggers and great customer service (I'd had the counters replaced for free just by sending a simple email to them)

more and more of the charter guys ae using these due to smaller profile and durability

I just threw it out there as another choice

customer service is good as well, but I have never needed it, since they are almost bulletproof

If anything wears on them it would be the end roller guide, which is a simple 5 minute swap
