QUOTE (Smilee @ May 14, 2019 - 06:20 am)
Friends of mine have found lots!! Myself, none!! Guess you just have to find the right spot(s). I haven't !!!! 🙂
I know it's even worse than asking for fishing spots but what general area are they in Smilee? First time looking for them the other day and I found a total of one lol. Not sure if it's early or not a great spot.

C E , I usually find mine in woodlots w/ maple, beech, popular trees. Also look around dead trees w/ the bark falling off. Over grown fence rows can bo productive also. But....... Who am I to say.......I haven't found any yet!!! Usually find enough for a meal or two every year. Good luck fungi hunting!! 🙂

just curious as I have never found any, never really looked either. How do you harvest them, cut at ground, pull, I have no idea. Would like to know so if I ever do run across some I know how to handle them and not wreck the spot.
