In mixing two of my very different hobbies, fishing and languages, I found it super cool to find out what the French words were for our beloved fish. Here is a list from my research; French Canadians feel free to correct me or provide any cool nicknames you guys have.

Bass-Bar

Pike-Brochet

Musky-Gros brochet, Maskinongé (lit.fat pike)

Walleye-Doré jaune(lit.yellow gold)

Perch-Perche

Salmon-Saumon

Lake Trout-Omble du Canada, Truite de lac(Omble means char, lit. Char from Canada)

Brook Trout-Omble de fontaine

Rainbow Trout-Truite arc-en-ciel

Brown Trout-Truite brune

Sunfish-Poisson-lune(lit.Moonfish...Ok listen here Quebec, are we gonna have to argue about this one )

Spelling seems legit to me I'm not positive but I think that I heard some people I ran into in Algonquin use that term. Thanks for the addition
