As I wait at Richards fish and Chips giant line up I figured I'd write something up. Well we arrived at our cottage in North Rustico Sunday night and were given 6 tea candles and half a gallon of water. Dorian really did a number on the island with trees downed and uprooted everywhere. I noticed a bbq and we just drove around until we saw a store in Cavendish running on generators. Got some food and supplies and back we went. Dinner followed by bed hoping the lights would come back on Monday. Didnt happen.. but thankfully Tuesday we got it back. Tried to find a boat to take us out but only bluefin charters were running but 8 hours is a long commitment and the better half wouldnt be able to handle it out there. Finally found a boat and went for some cod and mackerel. Most of the boat memembrs were chumming the water due to pretty rough conditions but we were surprisingly ok and combined for 9 cod and about 12 mackerel. Never ate either of them fresh before and oh man was it ever good. Saw a "mother in law" fish and what a fitting name lol! Went night fishing and got 2 Tommy cod and some small perch. Still fun. I gave some jigs tomato fellow fisherman that's staying a few cottages over and he rented a kayak and managed a nice striper. He thanked me for the jigs and tubes and we were rewarded with a nice piece of striper. Real good on the bbq. Went to Tea Hill to go clamming and man that's a lot of work lol. Managed 6 bar clams and 5 steamer clams in about 5 hours. On the way home pulled over to a scenic view area for a tinkle and stumbled upon some King Bolete mushrooms. Soup that night was phenomenal. So far so good and I dont want go fly home on Sunday

Hey Vlad

Looks good. Well done.

You might like it there this time of year, but you don't want to be there in the Winter!
