What took so long you ask?
Its 2019. Age of over sensitive people. He said nothing different than he's done all his career and nothing different than what landed him that job in the first place. Just being brash and upfront. Problem is that its 2019 and everyone now looks for.a reason to get offended.

If anyone follows comedians, my favourite comedian Bill Burr has a special on Netflix's called Paper Tiger. He filmed it in London because he said America (us too) is so sensitive right now that he cant even do his.material without any kind of back lash. And he spends pretty much the whole special making fun of and bringing to light how sensitive the world has become.
