Just saw the one----here at the beach in Wasaga. I got fairly close. It was eating a gull that he had presumably killed. (Didn't notice any fewer gulls the next year tho)

Great pictures Chevy!

I saw one yesterday being chased by two crows. I was driving between Paisley and Mildmay and they crossed the road ahead of me.

Thanks for posting your shots.

That’s pretty cool. Crows always find the owls. It’s something I always look for.
The guy I’m working for comes from Paisley.

Fishnhunt made a great point. Whenever I’m out looking for owls/ hawks , crows generally point you in the right direction.
If you see a group (murder) of crows, it’s a good bet they’re on to something.
Cheers

I had one hanging out at one of my ice fishing spots one year. One evening he was up in a nearby tree coughing up a pellet - not a real pleasant display. While he was attending to his business a group of gulls were harassing him relentlessly. The next morning on the walk out I came across a dead gull that had it's breasts torn off in the night. Vindictive little SOB's lol.

Really nice. Wondering what do you mean by saying too far? How far were they?

Ideally not more then 75 yards. The closer the better detail and sharpness the photo is.
This is a pic of one of the bald eagles I saw. It was probably better then 200 yds. If you zoom in you will notice poor quality, in fact you don’t have to zoom it in. It’s just not a good photo. Just good enough for an ID I guess.

About 20 yrs ago in rural North Oakville, every telephone pole or tree had a beautiful Snowy perched on it or in it.
There were 50 or 100 Snowy Owls perched on poles or in trees in a only mile or 2 along the roadlines. They were a common sight. They stayed for only 2 weeks.
No idea why they came or why they left just as quickly.

Such a beautiful and awesome bird.

Merry Christmas everyone,

Cheers,

Ya, there is a female I see here the past couple of years. I haven’t seen her yet. Possibly the same owl ?

Cheers,

I was at location like that last year. Counted 52 snowy’s. There was an insane amount of voles. I’m assuming a lack of food source in their home region and an abundance somewhere else brought them in.
