I use a little bit of wheel bearing grease, but I think any oil or grease would work just fine. Make sure you wipe out any excess from the inside of the barrel.

I use special grease for choke tubes, but I would think any high temperature grease would work.

I use traditions wonderlube (aka bore butter) from my muzzle loading kit and almost always remove it whenever I'm cleaning the gun.
