We were out for 7 hours on Friday and fighting the wind, managed to catch a few. Out at 6:30 am and tried trolling the channel towards Lindsay with no luck, next tried casting the shore but no takers. When we left the channel, all the boats that were in it had left so I guess they were not having any luck either. Tried dropshotting a hump we usually have success but no one there either. Decided to head up to the Fenelon channel before it got too windy to try for some smallies. Hubby caught the first one with a jointed Rapala and had success with that lure for the rest of the day but only ended up with some perch and rockbass. I then started catching with a jig and grub. Most fish caught were decent rockbass but I also caught a couple smallies in the 1.5lb range but nothing was worth taking a picture of. Decided to head in at 1:30 and fought the wind back to Lunghaven to pull the boat out. Next report will be from the Thousand Islands since we are headed there for the Big Bass Challenge.

Glad you figured them out and finally hooked up with some fish. I have found the same type of luck, some days no matter how much I try and how many spots I check, I end up finding small schools of smallies all the same size 1- 1.5 lb max. No sign of the big ones...
Good Luck in the Thousand Islands, I hope you catch the tagged bass.
