Canada needs to defend better. A lot of these types of tournaments are won and lost on special teams, so staying out of the box is key while capitalizing on your opportunities on the PP.

Tough game today. Didn't seem to have anything going in any aspect of our game. Losing our top star is gonna hurt too. Have to regroup and win the next two to get us positioned for the medal round. Go Canada Go!

Coming from the former USSR at 10 and being raised here since and loving every minute of it for the last 26 years I really look forward to this game every year. I have a hockey background and my father was responsible for getting numerous high ranking Russians players into the NHL. This is not a game I enjoyed watching much. Nail biting and on the edge usually this match ends up being and that's what I really enjoy from the future of hockey on a global scale with the JRs and that did not happen. Hope they smarten up.

I was out most of the day, PVR’d the game and started watching around 5.
UGH !!!
I kept thinking, they’re going to mount a come back..... any minute now....
Man that was hard to watch.

That Germany team is no joke, so tie up those skates and tighten those chinstraps, we need a win.

Today's loss was the worst in tournament history for them. I agree have to get a win in the next game!

That game is what happens when you let things spiral out of control. It was clear that the Canadians were shell-shocked and just didn't have the fight left in them leading to a goal-fest.

The first goal was extremely unfortunate, being offside (twice, the original entry was a mile offside and obviously the bad pass did in fact clear the zone) and had a terrible goalie error. That's about as bad a start as you can have. The 2nd goal was a nice one, the third one absolutely should have been saved. It was a 20-30km/h shot, through the five-hole. Being down 3-0 is hard, being down 3-0 when it should be 1-0 is worse. The BS 5-on-3 took away any chance of regaining momentum within the 1st period.

Our 2nd-period powerplay was actually pretty solid but we all know how it ended. I switched over to the Spengler Cup after that because I knew the boys wouldn't recover from that mentally.

Move on, the worst of our schedule is over, now we refocus. Look out, Germany and Czechia, this Team Canada is p##### off enough to run through a brick wall.

Too many penalties again. Would have been great for Hofer to get a shutout but good game nonetheless.
