Has to be one of my favourite sporting events to watch. Boxing Day’s game pitts Can vs USA. I’ve already reserved a spot on the couch.
Enjoy

Wish it was CAN vs RUS but USA is also good. I will probably be checking updates from the ice somewhere 😁

One of my favourtie sporting events each year. some real unforgettable moments. Have attended 3 of the tournaments so far. Like looking back at past rosters to see who made it in the NHL, and who struggled despite being a big star in junior and a high draft pick...even remember Gretzky playing so well on a losing team back in the day.
Go canada Go!!

Definitely a big fan. As mentioned it is great hockey. Those teenagers are under a lot of pressure and play some fantastic hockey. Thinking back to what I was doing at that age and it is not in the same world let alone league.
I have been working in N.Y. state quite a bit since 2005 and have seen a lot of the tournament from down there. One year my wife and l are in a pub watching the championship game between Canada and Russa. There was a table of locals cheering for the Russian team...... Blew me away. I had to ask why and they said it was because Canada beat the US in the semifinal..... I guess the whole cold war thing doesn't matter.
I only watch the juniors and Olympic hockey these days. The NHL lost me 20 years ago.

I'll be watching every single game of the tournament, something I haven't been able to do since the 2015 tournament. Nothing beats the excitement of the World Juniors! One of my favourite memories of the WJC was the 2018 GMG against Sweden which I got to go see in Buffalo. Nothing will beat the feeling of seeing Steenbergen's deflection hit the back of the net.

I think the boys can pull it off, but we've got a tough group so it could be a slow start.

I'll also be following the Spengler Cup, a really underrated tournament. I highly recommend you guys checking it out between Juniors games. It starts on the 26th as well, first Canada game is at 2:15, right after the CAN-USA game. We've made the past four finals and are looking to reclaim the title after our 3-year win streak was snapped in a shootout last year.

Enjoy the great hockey guys!

Agreed, the Spengler Cup is underrated. Damn good hockey for sure. I know I’ll be tuned in.

Looks like a solid roster, couple NHL'ers of not so long ago. Kris Versteeg, Patric Wiercoch, David Desharnais to name a few

Welcome to the Lafreniere show. We gotta defend the power play better. Entertaining game though.
Can - Rus next. Russia lost today so they’ll be hungry for a win.
Cheers
