Hello fisher(people). My friends wife has asked me to help her plan a weekend fishing trip for her husband’s 30th bday. End of July for a weekend.
Wondering if anyone can recommend any general areas, lakes or lodges. We are normally bass fishermen but we also like pike, walleye and lake trout. Basically happy with any fish at the end of our lines. We are based in the GTA and are good with approx 4 hours travel time give or take. Any input is appreciated whether it’s a location a lake or a lodge that has done you well. We will be trailering a boat that can handle most water asides from a rough day on nip or simcoe sized lakes. Edit: there will be 3 guys on the trip.

Friends of mine (Mike and Darnell) own Pioneer Point Cottages on Weslemkoon Lake which is known for its bass fishing. Docking is available for your boat at the cottages. You can google them or you can find them on facebook if you are interested. It is about a 3.5hr drive from the GTA. If you are into ATVing there are lots of trails up there to ride. Keep in mind that the last weekend of July is a long weekend (August 3/20 Civic Holiday) so wherever you decide to go you should book soon.
