I’m ready

I enjoy fishing of any kind. I really enjoyed the ice fishing season this year but I am ready to get the kayak out this spring. I find myself going to the garage and staring at her. More than likely my first trip out will be to Jordan conservation side of Lake Ontario for some huge catfish or maybe to Dunnville for the catfish. Great specie for me to get the muscles in shape when most other species are closed. Maybe Lake Erie for some walleye or perch? Maybe whatever the day brings. Retirement is great when combined for the love of outdoors. Okay I’m ready!!

Yeah same here. I prefer hitting Lake Ontario for Salmon but I am very much looking forward to kayak fishing too. I have been off work for the last 2 days and didn't even bother going out on the ice.

I'm not a kayaker, but I am ready to hit the open water, way past ready. With no ice around here this winter and me retiring mid January.

Got my fist kayak 10 years ago.
Since then I am hooked, I do fish almost every weekend during the soft water season. So relaxing and rejuvenating.
I live in Toronto but I will hit anything in 200km radius.
My kayak fits inside my van.
From Parry Sound, Owen Sound, Simcoe, Ontario, Niagara, Erie (the whole shore from Fort Erie to Port Stanley).
I have to recognize that I cheat a bit, my kayak has a transom and a gas engine for long trips and electric for short ones.
Paddling is also an option sometimes.

Sorry for late reply but I don't check this forum daily.
I do use a Wavewalk S4 motorization as per below:
1) paddle
2) Minkota 80Lb
3) Minkota 101Lb
4) Thohastu 3.5Hp
6) Yamaha 6Hp
Depending on what body of water I go a chose the motor.
My kayak permits to troll deep water, I do have a downrigger that I can mount in few secs. Also a big FishFinder on it: Helix 9 SI
