so with that time of year again. who is thinking should i apply or should i not. moose season is a long way away, but you need to consider whether to apply in the draw after purchasing your license. is this pandemic going to be a thing of the past or will we still being under it's grip. should you put out the money for a tag or save your money because you are unsure of your next source of income. this is a real thought process. i personally am willing to forgo the purchace and say no hunt this and get canada back on it's feet and get rid of this virus. in thinking forward it will help(hopefully) the moose population get back on track. do you bear hunt? this is the same dilemma . it is not a life or death situation the hunting but my mind does work in mysterious ways and do not forget the deer hunt. and of course now the fishing. i think the whole eco system including the wild life could most likely use a year break. but i definatly will miss all my outdoor adventures since i plan them all a year ahead. but the good of all canadians i will social distance
stay safe

If I owned rural property I could hunt on it would be a no brainer, but unfortunately I don't. I don't think I will get a turkey tag this spring. By all accounts this is going to last atleast 18 months as we haven't even seen the second or third wave hit yet. From the last article I read it could be 2 years before we return to life as we once knew it.

Make me question how bad our hygiene and cleaning practices really were.

Stay safe.

My thoughts are that where I go hunting with my motorhome will provide the social distancing. But will I be able to park on Crown Land? I think I will wait for directions from MNRF and my knowlegable partner. If I do go I will do 21 days of isolation.

MNRF probably won’t give you a straight answer and will have us all apply and buy tags before they say “no” if they already plan on saying “no”.

As a whole, I would say our hygiene is just ok, look at Taiwan and Japan. One would think they would have so many more cases due to their proximity to China and their higher population and population density. They're just cleaner, and their government, specifically Taiwan, implemented strict rules on their people, even going as far as digitally fencing in those that have tested positive for the virus.

Although I would say as a whole, our government is doing an ok job right now, they were way too slow to act. Hindsight is 20/20, but they could have been temperature screening ALL international travelers from as far back as December. I don't believe for one second that CSIS and the Canadian Government did not at least suspect the Chinese government were downplaying the virus. Only now are they talking about their suspicions of China in the news, when anyone who has been paying attention would have been suspicious from the start.
