Are we allowed to hunt public land? Or even private land for that matter?
I heard they are handing out tickets to fisherman but haven’t heard anything about hunting.

At the moment in general yes you can hunt turkeys this spring.
However you must follow some added rules that encompass social distancing provisions.
Public lands may or may not be closed need to check with the administrating authority.
Private land given you have permission( even if you had permission last time best to reaffirm prior to hunt) good too go as long you follow social distancing rules,
Travel is recommended you do at a minimum following social distancing rules.
FYI haven't bought my license yet waiting till Friday afternoon just too be sure

I know they restricted camping on crown land which made me ask the same question for hunting. I did some research and found a good link from the OFAH website on how certain restrictions might affect the upcoming openers.

In summary, it seems that it is still unknown how the seasons will be affected on crown land, however, each Municipality and Conservation Authority have enacted their own restrictions. Most have complete closures or restricted access, you can check for yourself here...

I've cancelled my turkey hunt for this year. Kinda flies in the face of the stay safe, stay at home message.
Turkey hunting dosent fall under emergency travel for me, so I'm out.

It really sucks as last year was my first successful season and was quite looking forward to going out again and even introducing my daughter to it this year.

This comment is for Jesse...... I'm sure that I speak for a lot of people when I say that I am really disappointed in your stereotyping of hunters who happen to live in urban areas of the province. Your true ignorance has shone through, and this is something that you need to wear.
Maybe some day you will mature enough to understand that we all play a part in this, and we need to be respectful of each other in order to keep hunting and fishing opportunities available to all,not only for people based on their postal code. Play by the rules, I'm sure you have always done that?

P.S. if you see someone trespassing, or poaching, Do something about it, we are all responsible to do our part. Make the call and quit complaining that it is someone from the "CITY". May very well be some one that happens to live outside of a large city, you may be surprised.

Have a nice day,

i will be going locally. i called the farmer today to confirm it is still ok to go. The closest i will be to anyone will be if i pass a car on the road. I will not be going for my turkey hunt up north, with the guys. Usually do that once or twice during the season, but not this year.

My hunt isn't local, about a 2 hour drive away then a stay for a few nights at a family members home. So with all those factors I just can't do it this year.

Again real kick in the arse, we were going to fish the opener till it was time to head to the blind and do an opening morning hunt.

I had permission to hunt 2 golf courses that back on to each other. Perfect spot. Now they are closed to public and staff. Not sure if I can still be there. Will be looking into it though

let us know how you make out as that's a tough situation.
I'd speculate if its a public course you would be shut out. If its private would have to check with the administrator as they would have details of the order. In any case may even have to check in with the local LEO and bylaw officer too see what their interpretation is as a car in the parking lot would draw attention.
