Any idea when this year moose hunt stats will be available? That is of course there is a season

They are on line now. We purchased our tags and draws yesterday

Anyone like the 2021 change about the point syptem to my point of view will be better for our chance to have a tag

I’m in wmu 54 an they totally screwed us all over. Last year there was 205 bull tags and 59 cow tags, this year 40 bull an 11 cows for rifle but they added a brand new archery only season an allowed 3 bull an 7 cows there but that still means they cut 200 adult tags.

I’ve email them with question as to why such a big cut an they told me there was a significant decline in the population according to their Ariel surveys this year. It was nothing more then I’d expected but then when I replied then why add a new week long archery season to a declining population they tried to back peddle an to open new opportunities. I asked them how they could honestly do that when the population is significantly declining in there population but they have started to ignore my emails it seems.

I am wondering how many hunters we will lose with the cost for a moose tag going up to $250.00 ????

The cost are only if you draw a tag. It’s actually going to be cheaper to apply ($15) $35 for the license if you decide you’re actually going to hunt.

I think anyone who applies will want to get a tag and hence the cost. The draw cost emulate the way they have been doing the elk draw for years. The issue with elk is people who are successful in the draw only look for property after. When they cannot find property they do not buy the tag and then that tag is burnt. I live in the Bancroft area with elk on my property and have not drawn in the years.

I’m wondering if it will be tougher to draw a tag with only 2 members in a hunt group. We’ve always had good luck drawing albeit in a very remote area. I hope this doesn’t change with the new system.
From what I understand the new system should be fairer for big groups because the people that have went longest without a tag should get one.

My group apply for a cow because we always have a tag but the cow are harder to get than bull whit that new point symptem will be probably better chance to have a bull it to call a bull than cow I know sometime you call a bull and he come out whit cow but always see more bull
