gobble gobble

I'm all tagged out for the season now. Guess I will have to start fishing now, by myself of course. Well setup 20 min before legal, in a different bush about 100yds in on a trail. No gobbling at all, so 50 min into legal I make a call, still nothing. Wait another 50 min make another call. 10 min later I hear a gobble to my left. I wait a few min and give another call, the gobbling is a lot closer, so I go quiet. Now the gobbling is none stop. Wait about 5 min and I see 2 birds come over a rise in the trail 40yds down. I see both have beards so going for the biggest. they are just in my shooting window and they are beside each other no shot. The one stops and turns around, seen me even though I haven't moved. The other goes into full strut. As soon as he gives me a head shot it is all over at about 30 yd.

Since I have tagged out, I let my cousin and his son hunt one of my spots where I've had trail cams set up , and low and behold another giant Tom was put to rest! Congrats Boys on a job well done!!

The only thing worse than not seeing a turkey was calling one off the roost this morning and then missing him when I pulled the trigger.
