Last night was my last opportunity for the season to try to bag a bear. I arrived at my stand at 6pm. At 7pm my friend send me a text that he got a sow with 2 cubs at his bait. Nice they are moving early even with the high temperature. 730pm a hear some branch cracking far the other side of my bait. 745pm I get a glimpse of something moving in the raspberries and comes out to the bait, he walk around the bait and come back and lay down to eat. He gave me a broadside shot so I took a immediate shot. He ran 50ft and expired.
392lbs field dress, 6’1.5”. Second biggest spring bear since I started bear hunting in 2008.
