I got a fully rifled cantilever barrel for my shotgun. I'm just wondering what kind of scope everyone likes to use. I normally hunt with a rifle or crossbow so any help would be appreciated

Lets say nothing too extravagant, really no need for anything more than a 4x. Make sure what you get is designed for shotgun use. I use an old Tasco 4x and it's knocked the lights out of a bunch of deer, dead accurate to at least 75 yds.

I have a bushnel trophy 1.75- 4 x32 on my 870, 12ga. got a deer at 100yd the first year had the gun. My boss was shooting it and managed to break it. Called Bushnel and they told me to send it back to them at their cost. They would fix or replace it. They replaced it and I haven't been drawn for the controlled hunt since. But I did like the scope and hope to us it this year.

Beachcomber, I'm no expert but I purchased this one years back when I got my 870. The thing I like about it is the quickness to the shoulder on target. The reticles, green for first and last light, red for the day. I'm not sure if they still make them. Never had an issue, and I have not yet replaced the battery

I like the looks of that one. By the pricetag I'm guessing you purchased it a while ago? Lol. Tried to find one online but I think I'm going to have to go in store to see what's available

My advice would be to buy good quality as I have wiped out two cheaper scopes (Bell and a Tasco I think) until I put on a fixed 4X Leupold. Its been on for 20 years without a hitch. I think it’s the recoil on an 870 that’s hard on them as they kick like a rented mule with saboted slugs.
