Woodcock migration, When do they start?

Hey bird guys. I flushed a couple woodcock yesterday on the edge of a grain field beside a creekbed. Would these be residents or are they starting to head south? I've seen them here during the Nov deer hunt before so it made curious.

I wouldn’t think they’re moving too much yet. I’ve always seen them around our farm all summer for years, and it was often around mid to late October before I really got into large numbers of them while bird hunting.

Someone said woodcock?

Depends where you are.
Doubt its migrants. Most likely resident birds moving to wetter ground. Been a dry summer so could be looking for better worming grounds. Don't expect birds to start moving till thanksgiving

Too me nothing more satisfying than watching a dog work them up.
