Hey everybody!
I hope everyone is having a good start to kayak fishing season. I have been having problems with my transducer mount, so i was wondering what you guys were using.
I have a scotty transducer mounting arm that hangs off the side. 0It gets in the way and isnt very stable.

Any suggestions?
I use the same SCOTTY kayak transducer mounting arm which slides in/through kayak's gear track, and then is tightened, so I don't think it moves a single bit at all.
PS: I only slide in/"install" this transducer arm once I have paddled out of launch area (when there is enough water depth so that the transducer would not hit/scratch lake bottom:-)

nice! Thanks for the input.
I was using the same arm. I will have to mount it further towards the bow. I had to order new slip discs and have to find a new bolt to secrue it. I guess it shook loose during transport.

How does this arm work for you? No issues?
I have no issue with this SCOTTY transducer mount. As I said, each time after I paddle out of launch area I slide it into the gear track on kayak, and turn to screw it tight. When done with fishing I unscrew and take out the arm (remove it from gear track).
I mount the arm (slide it into the gear track) only after I am on water and ready:

I have my transducer under my seat in the hull. I used Marine Goop as the adhesive and covered it with a piece of pool noodle. As stated, the temp readings will be off but the sonar is fine. I just replaced mine that I had there for about 4 years with no issues.

What about wires? Have installed them permanently or removing them ofter you are done? I need to figure out my setup
I run the wires through to where I plug them into the finder and the power source and leave them there. I remove the finder and the battery for transport.

I have a homemade version of the scotty setup that isn't picture worthy. I use my Garmin for ice, yak and I am currently making a clamp on transom mount for my tin tippie so I can't be gluing things to my hull and personally I have found the last couple years water temp is crucial at transition times for finding fish like post spawn pike and what not. Hope you can figure out a system that works for you. Tight lines!
