Went scouting for wild grapes today, will go back Sunday to pick some. Got home and made jelly. This is the first time I have made pepper jelly, I do make wild grape jam. Anyway it turned out really good, at least I like it, it is warm but tasty.

Hey Steve, looks good.

My wife and I do not eat much jam, but many years ago we did make some wild grape jelly and it was excellent. The taste was great.

I can also relate a story about wild grapes.

Many years ago, I was fishing a river for fall steelhead in late October after there had been some frost. On the other side of the river there was a large patch of wild grapes which a flock of migrating Robins had found and were chowing down on them.

As a result of the frost and then thaw the grapes were starting to rot and ferment on the vine.

Drunk Robins!

They were crashing into each, into the vines, the brush and even into the river.

Really funny to see and I didn't see any of the come to serious harm, even after they fell in the river as they managed to get out again.
