Just an fyi to all who use this park to launch, it will be unavailable going forward and the closure will likely impact all of next summer as well.
A link to what the new area will look like, along with its amenities, can be found here --
https://www.kawarthalakes.ca/en/municipal-s...-Compressed.pdf Just to reiterate, there is NO ACCESS to the park, boat launch, beach area at all.

Thanks for the update. It looks like there will be some improvements made and kept a public space which is good to see. I was concerned that they were going to sell off a good portion of the area (the previous trailer park area) for development. I look forward to seeing what they do with the space. This is a location that I have taken the family to for years, while this may not be possible in 2021 it is good to see that this should continue beyond that.

I never even knew there was a ramp there. I've always used the one across the channel at the foot of West Rd to access the northern part of Sturgeon.

The plan looks great. Will be more space for boaters to stop in the summer months for day access to the town. Very looking forward to when it is all complete.

I just discovered this park this summer and I used to lunch my boat from there, so i guess I have to look for a new ramp, Any suggestion?

Just an update. The beach park is now open, and the parking and washroom facilities are quite excellent. The boat launches are still awaiting approval to be created, so no boat launching as yet. Attila

Would you be able to launch a kayak or is it closed to all types of water craft?

Docks are now in, I imagine the launch should be good to go next spring.
Parking lots are closed for the season.

Will be good to have a launch there with some decent parking
