it was about 3-4" deep on top of the ice by the time we were leaving. When we got there there was only a bit of slush on top, but the whole time there was water rushing out of the holes, making more wet sloppy stuff on top of a few inches of crystal clear(black) ice.

Great job pal, I've taken both my kids on "field trips " this winter. It's funny, I used to feel guilty, as I felt it was a bit of a pain in the arse to take the kids when they were super young....but now...I don't feel it's worth the trip if at least one doesn't come. Lol. My 6yr old daughter will Come now at the drop of a hat, but my 12 yr old would rather "game". Enjoy it while you can budz.....
