Well, it has been far too long since I last wet a line. Despite COVID, there have just been too many distractions but I'm happy to say that I finally got out and, despite a slow bite, had a very satisfactory day going 3 for 4 in just under five hours. I drilled several holes on an expansive flat ranging in depth from 56 to 66 feet of water; all of the action, however, came from only one of my spots in 66 feet. All fish were caught on minnows; nary a bite on Vibratos, Jigging Raps, spoons, tubes, or minnow baits. The weather conditions were excellent making for a very pleasant day on the ice.

We weren't all so lucky----or was it sheer skill. There were 3 of us with a total of 5 fish.I was a great day nonetheless----mostly sunny, not too cold, some slush but skidoo tracks to follow for the most part. It was great to be out for the first time this year. As they say 'fish are a bonus'.

There were lots of marks---some big ones---in the AM but very few bites. Maybe the big ones were ling. Very few marks for the last 2 hrs.

We talked to another guy. neither he nor his bud had caught a fish despite lots of marks.
