Hi guys,
So far this winter i've tried 3 stocked rainbow trout lakes and only got a hit/underwater camera view on 1 of them - by far the most remote lake.
Any advice on how to target them? I've been going into weedy bays using live minnows but they seem more finicky than lakers and I would've expected them to be less finicky than brook trout but here we are.

I have not tried it in Ontario but I used to catch loads of RT of flies not far below the ice max 5 ft. I also did really well with shrimp their was jo live bait aloud ... you dont always need it. I used to look for anywhere water would come in or out. Good luck !

Rainbow lakes I used to fish that are heavily stocked every year or every other year haven’t produced anything for me in the last 10 years and I’ve totally stopped targeting them. Only troll Great Lakes for them while salmon fishing now. Just my personal experience but some places seem like a huge waste of time and money putting trout in a lake that don’t survive one year! I’d like to see some put and take walleye in these shallow lakes where the trout aren’t surviving maybe?
