Seems like they're more and more prevalent in Rice now. Every summer for the past 4 years we have pulled in 2-3 Pike each season. Something is going on with Rice- the bite is just not the same as it was in previous years-Pike present to blame?

Oh boy!! This is not good at all. I was told that the Otanobee has a healthy population of Muskies but now I'm very worried

Damn!! Will definitely make finding Muskies on Rice a lot harder and trickier.

Is the walleye bite down too? That is a really bummer if Pike are already affecting the fishery.

We don't really target them (stick to walleye fishing the most)-but we hook into one or two each summer on accident-actually pulled in a 46" early September of last year. Catch and release though-stinky fish, don't like pulling them aboard.

We never leave with an empty livewell when walleye fishing but we have noticed that this year the frequency of catching them has declined by quite a bit (also majority of the ones we've caught this summer have been >22-24", haven't been able to catch a lot of slot sizes for the fryer)
