Arrived at one of my favorite resorts in Ontario. The resort itself is really nice. I'm in a different cabin than what I usually get. It's just a bit farther from the dock (100' instead of 15'!!), but the cabin is furnished much nicer. And with no one in the cabins during the Covid shutdown, Mark decided to add AC to all of the cabins. I'll be here until Friday morning.
Since I was delayed leaving home this morning, I only ended up with 2 hours of fishing before dinner. So I buzzed over to one of my waypoints that was still on my GPS and stayed in the area for 1.5 hours. I noticed some small fish breaking the surface so grabbed my topwater and cruised over. I found a spot that was a giant boulder in 4 feet and dropped the Powerpoles. I managed to catch 11 largemouth that averaged 1.5lb that were schooling and feeding on 2" bluegills. On the outside of this frenzy were several lone larger fish. I did hook into 4 of them, but landed 2....a 3lb 7oz largemouth and a 4lb 10oz smallmouth.
The weather forecast for the week probably couldn't be any better.....partly to mostly cloudy, no rain, and a north wind between 3 and 8mph. This is going to be fun!!!
