Ya sorry I wont be joining instagame but imo if you have to spend a ton on money and use that kind of technology to help you catch a fish to offset ones own lack of fishing skill and knowledge, so be it. good luck. next they will invent an ai fishing rod that catches the fish for you.
Only a no skill hack would use a fishing rod to catch fish. If you were a real fisherman you would use nothing but your bare hands and swimming ability to chase them down and catch them.
You mean, like that?

Thats a clear case of technological cheating, the guy was on an artificial dock.

Advancements in fishing are constantly evolving....be it
boats, motors, electronics, rods, reels lines hooks etc. the knowledge of sportfishing also keeps getting better as to catch and release tactics handling of fish etc.
If you wish to sit onshore and use a wooden stick with a line and red bobber that's up to you and you alone

I love the new improved stuff
+1!
Well said. Shank.
And in most cases , seeing a fish on the screen of a finder/scope does not automatically translates into a fish on your line .
Just more opportunities to have fun and enjoy the process of finding fish and improving your knowledge of it's behaviour.

Anyone who fishes big water like the great lakes, and lakes like simcoe and nipissing should have all the toys available to them. That is a lot of water to be floating around in, and just guessing. In the kawarthas I have no need for a fish finder. At night the fish come to me in my usual spots...IF...IF... they are hungry. During the day I look for them in my other usual spots. Start casting and when and...IF... I get a hit, I know the fish are there. If I take some friends out fishing and they have fish finders or some new technology they use, we use it. If tech stuff helps someone catch a fish, that is great. As long as people do not wipe out whole schools of crappie and walleye and bass, as well as all species of fish. It is clearly up to the person. Just because I do not use something someone else does...Perfect example I do not use any shimano products, don't like them. Never had a fish finder before, probably never get one. Good to know I can buy one though, if I need it. My fish could move away and not send their forwarding address to me..

it's just a tool, in the wrong hands it's completely useless, there is no substitute for time on the water. As you spend time on the water it becomes more and more clear what your short comings are and you start thinking about what piece of equipment will help you increase your skill set weather it's a talon, spot lock, live scope or mega image. Owning all or any of these tools will hardly help you cash any checks in tournys without the skill set behind why you need them.
