Stopped at a few locks to try my luck and couldn't even cast its a torrent? So much water? Anyone know a section that is running somewhat normal? PM me if you wish. Thanks

Haven't you noticed all the rain we have had in Southern Ontario lately.
I suspect everywhere is the same.

i get it we had lots of rain but in the past we had rain too and there wasn't this much water. I guess they are trying to drain it before winter.

The water level has been high all summer the otanabee is so high that trees along the edges are falling into the river going to be a mess when spring comes with the melt . Seems to be bad water management

Thanks. Yes I was in Peterborough and it was nuts! Anyone have eyes around Lindsay? How's below Hastings?

Balsam and Strurgeon were at their highest levels yet this year, last Wednesday Sept. 29th Balsam was> 256.315m. They are getting close to their fall daily average now but still up a bit Balsam yesterday> 256.247m. There was a ton of water flowing a few places I fished last week. That's why the fishing was so good. There is more rain this Saturday so could stay up a bit longer.

From the TSW FB page....
Good news! The entire Trent-Severn Waterway will reopen for recreational boating on the morning of Friday, October 8, 2021 in time for the Thanksgiving Day Long Weekend, the last weekend of the 2021 Navigation Season.

Recent unusually high levels of rain necessitated a temporary closure of Lock 1 to 27 to allow for the movement of water through the system to create safe boating conditions. Thanks for your patience and cooperation while this crucial work was carried out.

Please note that the last lockage of the season will occur on Monday, October 11, 2021 at 4:30 p.m.

Happy boating!

I've always thought high water levels contribute to better fish populations. Increased habitat for bait fish and breeding/nests sites for game fish. I'm no marinebioligist, but I assume their correlated.

It always seems that the best breeding years and population years for walleye on Erie are high water level years

been a weird season with long periods of no rain and very hot to periods of a lot of rain in short periods. just makes it more difficult for water/dam control
