Got out for some muskie fishing enjoying this great fall weather.
Tried my best to boat a muskie, getting 4 follows and 2 swipes, but no hook-ups.. Just would not commit for me.
Thought I finally got a muskie, just after a follow -- I threw a muskie jake into a hole in the weeds and smash.. Fish hammered the lure and stayed down.. But to my surprise it was a big walleye.. Quick measure and release.. 27 -28 inches..
That's it for the day.. Worth the trip and sore arms.. LOL..

Oh my...That is such a perfect picture. The sun was just making the gold and black stand out so much. And what a fish it looks more like 29 inches from that angle. Looks like a big gold snake not being able to see the end of the tail. Outstanding walleye photograph. Wish I could see the whole fish.

Thank-you everyone..
The colours on this walleye were beautiful.. Would make a great mount..
Unfortunately I did not get a good whole fish picture. It was caught on heavy gear and was still 'green' when I netted it.. It would not sit still for a proper measurement, so not sure but it was over 27". Didn't close the tail to get an accurate one. I then quickly held it up for a pic, and released it with a splash..
I have caught 4 walleye at 27" in these waters over the years and they are all the same. Big head and shoulders and then skinny on the mid to tail end. Not sure why.. I wish they would be fatter.. But not so.. Doesn't seem to bother them, they still seem to feed and are strong fighters..
