Nope, we catch this instead
really nice haul!
The look on the face of the lower perch is if he is checking if you have put a measuring tape properly to the tip of the nose....
LOL.. yeah I actually used a large knife to align the noses with the tip of the tape, but camera angle changes the perspective a bit.
By the way fishing was not too bad on the east side of the lake last Friday, however this year fish is shallower for some reason and they were not in the open flats at 25-30' as they usually are this time of the year!.

I am glad that your were able to find them
I am not surprised at all that perch is shallower now, knowing how warm September and October have been and that the water temps were about 16-18C recently.
We were slamming them last year about this time in the marina in 5-6 FOW, so fall fishing can be tricky as there is always minnows/perch shallow migration in mid-fall. Later in the fall they will start to move deeper but then again, not all the fish is doing the same thing at the same time.

Yeah, incidental catch. It did swallow the minnow deep so had to join the crowd. I usually catch the odd pike, bass, and brown bulls while perch fishing.

Nice haul Rey. We'll be hooking up soon I hope. Lets hope we get out on the hardwater early this year. Cheers
Thanks Don, I surely missed the company bud. Lucky for me the wife enjoys fishing (especially perch) so i don't have to go out alone. We made 3 trips to Simcoe this October and they were all productive with lots of fish to be had. Caught some of our largest perch this year, hope the hard water fishing will be anywhere near this success, somehow I doubt it though!.
