This was my last trip to fish this season. We went to pull boat out, but first had to fish for the day. It was an amazing day weather wise , cold start lots of frost ,but very light winds. The small mouth were hungry and even caught a bonus pike. I took my daughters boyfriend with me , we had a great day to end the season. I have fished almost every weekend since walleye opener and enjoyed 3 weeks vacation as well but time to get some neglected things done around the house and hope its a good start to the hard water season. I just figured out how to post pictures on here so i hope they show up.

Really nice pictures of those fish. If I take pictures at night they usually turn out blurry. I guess I should hire a photographer. Sure looked like a perfect day on the water.

Awesome pictures and nice chunky bass and decent pike you guys got !

Great way to close the season , that’s for sure !

Smallies like sunny weather but catching pike on balsam on a calm sunny day is another story

Well done !

Thanks JB it sure was a great way to end the season. The bass were like footballs and hungry. It was a beautiful day as well water was 55 , it was warmer than the air. Good luck with your fall fishing yet to come.

Great day for you. I was also out in my canoe drifting along a weedbed south of the Park. Managed one largie and one smallie. Just casting a spinnerbait and sometimes casting and twitching a rapala. Anything really work for you on the lake or did you use a variety of techniques ? It sure was a beauty of a day to be on the lake !!! Rook

Rook , it was a good day on the lake. All the fish came on weed/rock transition but were on the rock. 8ish FOW ,we tried a variety of baits but live minnows on a 1/4 oz jig head did the damage . They seemed to be not that aggressive to chase other baits ,but inhaled the minnows. We kept a couple and they were stuffed full of crayfish so maybe slowing things down with a drop shot and crayfish plastics or something like that would work. Also there were only a few panfish around so worms may have worked as well on a jig head. Even the pike came on jig and minnow . Hope this helps.
