Big Bass, BBQ, bacon, eggs, potatoes, onions, salad, brunch for a big family. Got skunked and got a sun burn yesterday fishing for pike. Got up early and got frost burn, not frost bite. It was a very cold freezing mist but the bass were hungry. Caught a bakers dozen, all big bass and one small bass. Kept five and put the rest back for next year. I was using minnows and worms on a worm harness. Minnow on one hook and a worm on the other hook. It is hard to say which bait made them hit but who cares. I was casting a slip bobber into 8 feet of water from the shore at a place I only fish in October until bass closes. All fish were caught right on the bottom in the weeds. Bobber went down very slow, it seems the large mouth bass are getting lazy in the cold water. No more sun or fishing for me now until next week. It's almost football time, if I can stay awake. Perfect day to go fishing, it is going to be warm today. Good luck all. Stay safe.

This one went back with the others to catch again when ever. All the bass ranged from just over 5.3 pounds to 2.8 pounds I did not weigh the small one.

Nice going. I found the cold has really affected the bass out by me. Went out today to a small private pond where I can use get at least 5 or 6 largies. Today I was skunked

I knew the skunk wouldn’t last long CM. Those are some beauty bass, sounds like a great outing. Worm harness under a slip float that’s a different way to fish it, i would have never thought to use it in this way, looks like it was super productive.

Yes getting skunked always sucks. I went back this afternoon to my pike spot for 3 hours and they were still not hungry. All I caught was fresh air. I have never seen the water there not move at all. No minnows or sunfish nothing moving at all...very weird...no wind at all as well. Beautiful day though.

I use a worm harness sometimes with two 3 inch minnows on it under a slip bobber when I am fishing for walleye and crappie in the summer at night. Fishing in about 8 feet of water I keep the minnows only 18 to 24 inches under the surface. The walleye and crappie come up for the bait at night. And sometimes put 2 plastic baits on a worm harness under a slip bobber and bring it in very slow.

Thank you for the great feed back as always. It looks like the beautiful weather is over starting this Saturday. Then it turns into walleye weather, but walleye ends November 15th. I wish they would keep it open until the end of November. I just love fishing in really bad weather sometimes. It's not like it is fun being out in bad weather, it just feels like more of an adventure that way. When you tell a fish story to your kids or grand kids and you can add that it was minus 10 and the wind was 60km an hour. I think the kids enjoy the old fish stories. I know when my grandfather told a tale, I was always listening. LOL. At least bass stays open for a while longer. Good luck and stay safe, water is cold now.

Well the weather man was right...here comes the cold and wet and snow and wind. Next four nights and days is fish until my line freezes up then get out a dry rod and reel and start over...Not leaving the water until I catch a bunch of fish. Good luck to all fishing in the frosty weather. Water is cold now and everything will be slippery. STAY SAFE out there.
