Does anyone have any experience trying to find parts for a Rapala gas auger? I have a 43cc nitro that needs a new single hose grommet for the gas tank and I can’t seem to find anything online. I’m not even too sure who is the manufacturer of the engine. It says viper on it but I don’t know who makes those? All of the universal ones I’ve seen online fit a half inch hole, the hole on the Rapala tank is around 3/4” from my measurement. If anyone has any info I’d appreciate the help! Also I guess I should say, I’m in Burlington if anyone knows a good supplier around here. Thanks!

If it says viper on it .....it is probably a Eskimo.

Ok thanks that’s a start! I noticed Eskimo stuff coming up when I looked but didn’t know if that was connected.

I tracked one down, Crown Maintenance in Oshawa was recommended to me, I should have it next week 👍

Well the grommet and fuel line kit worked out great then I realized the tank was leaking as well. New tank arrived in the mail today, hopefully that’s it now.

To be honest I’m not 100% sure, they were able to just match up the model number for me for the parts I needed. I’d say your theory could be correct though with the engine being a viper. Anything I googled only returned with parts for Eskimo augers. Sounds like ethanol can wreck havoc on plastic parts, I’m guessing maybe it’s a good idea to run the gas out of everything before storage? I’ve never had any problems like this with any other equipment… yet…

Use Shell premium no ethanol...at most Shell stations....some have Ethanol in their premium. So ask before you pump.

Thanks Arnie I’ll keep an eye on that for sure, looks like I tuned it up just in time to put it away. Oh well that’s how it goes sometimes…

On any small engine, only use premium gas. It will cost you a bit more, but save you on the long run!!
