So I read an OFAH letter to the FMZ 10 managers that acknowledged that fishing mortality was too high and related to the 1 fish over 46cm harvest. One alternative put forward was the 43-60cm slot with 1 bigger than 60cm as it is in North Bay (FMZ 11) but OFAH wrote they thought that was too complicated for anglers to understand.
I'd be offended if I fished in Zone 10.
An FMZ 10 walleye document on the Environmental Registry said that the forecast was that 4 fish less than 43cm would work in FMZ 10 so FMZ 10 chose 4 fish less than 46cm.
Nowhere did it say that the 4 under 46cm choice would work.
