COPE Service Dogs, Fiddle Day Fundraiser May 20th

As some of you are already aware, my wife and I are enthusiastic supporters of COPE Service Dogs.

Last year we did a World and National Fiddle Day fundraiser that raised $2,300 for COPE.

We are doing the same thing again this year on May 20th and our flyer is attached. If you are unable to attend, but want to support the event, you can donate to COPE on line.

Click on support, click on donate, fill in the amount, fill in "Fiddle Day" in Type of Tribute, complete the rest of the form.

Now for the part that was in the heading. COPE has advised me that a new litter of Labs will arrive in May and they are looking for puppy raiser/foster parents in the Barrie/Innisfil area.

This is "Bud", one of the dogs that will be there on May 20th.

He is the team dog of the Toronto Maple Leafs who are supporting his training.

what a good cause Ralph. A month ago I saw on the news some service dog organization was looking for volunteers to take in a puppy and take it with them where ever they go. Keep the pup till it is 18 months old then off for service training, Thinking that would be such a great thing to do, but I wouldn't know how to give it up. Is this the same type of thing.

Saturday May 20th is fast approaching and plans for our Fiddle Day event are coming together nicely.

With donations made through the COPE web-site and what has been given to me at fiddle and square dance events, we have already raised $930.00, without a note being played or a dance step taken.

So this Saturday afternoon, if you are not fishing or hunting and are looking for something to do, come out for a fun "toe tapping" afternoon.

COPE confirmed to me earlier today that there will be 6 service dogs there on Saturday.
