Hi, I was contacted by an angler who caught a tagged walleye on Nipissing, Callander area. Does anyone know if the MNRF are doing a study at this time or if they have something setup to report these tagged fish?

Record the numbers, the length of the bass, the location where it was caught, release the fish quickly and report the info to the local Ontario MNR & F office.

MNRF tagged Walleye at the Wasi Falls spawning site this spring. The purpose is to assess the effectiveness of the current 40-to-45cm harvest slot size regulation. The yellow tags start with the letters ILK followed by 4 numbers. One the other side of the tag is a phone number where you can report your catch. You can also contact the North Bay MNRF to report your tag information.
As a minimum the MNRF would like to know the date when you captured the Walleye, whether the fish was released or harvested, and of course the tag number. Any other information (e.g., location) would be appreciated.

Thank-you so much! Yes the tag starts with ILK I have all the info on the fish. They didn't send me a phone# from the tag but I will email the North bay MNR
