Surprising there hasn't been an uproar over this. I'm sure they will do their due diligence to make sure when the sweep up the floor, none goes down the drain. Ya right. Build it in Doug Fords neighbourhood. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/sudbury/fore...h-bay-1.6910158

Thank you for posting this. It is ironic that so many advancements in the last hundred years have come at a very high price. The words advance, progress, develop, and the big phrase...Miracle of science come to mind. This is what are world has accomplished in the last ten decades. In science we have expanded our horizons to the edges of comprehension. The invention, or creation of what are known as forever chemicals has been a benefit to billions of people around the world. The ironic part is that these forever chemicals are many times detrimental to the same people. Everyone knows, or should no that forever chemicals are harmful to the environment and to our bodies. It all comes down to a simple math equation on a calculator. The "Risk Prediction Formula." The conclusions of science using this formula anticipate the probability of harmful effects on the environment and on us humans. A certain amount of loss... ( to the environment or human mortality )... is acceptable in industry on a global scale. It's all about profit margins versus losses. So the big and small companies keep using these forever chemicals to manufacture their products worldwide. This is a global crisis but we only think about it when it makes the news. In reality we as individuals can't do much about this. Is it feasible of science creating a safer way to manufacture these products? It is possible but not probable. I apologize ending my comment on an abandoned line of thinking. But this is the world we live in. Here is a bit of optimism. It is still a beautiful world we live in. Even with all the man made flaws.

paper straws, for example
That is an excellent example. Many products that we use to eat or drink out of, and food packaging in general. Like the original post said. None of this stuff going down the drain. Environmental hazards seems to be a daily happening in our world.
The straw comment was right on point of said topic. Maybe not mention just one country since the whole world is responsible for all the past and present crisis we are in. For over two hundred years the world has been continually overwhelmed from industry. Like I said science and industry has brought great advancements to billions of people. But many of those advancements have had adverse effects on the environment and the insides of our bodies. Canada and the U.S.A. are two of the worst polluters per capita in the world. Almost twice as much as China. Here is a very accurate, active chart of the world. The darkest colours are the worst offenders, but every country is to blame. Everyone is to blame from the past, to the present, and to the future for the problems that will face our children. And then our grandchildren and our great grandchildren, and our great great grandchildren and so on.

Guess you didn't watch the video. Agree to disagree. China [building 300 new coal plants] and India are the worse and they don't care.Stats are stats.Canada is a drop in the bucket and electric cars are a farce.

Thank you for your comment. Please don't guess if I watched the video. I watched the video and you are correct on that one point. Before I made my first comment I read the original article and related articles before posting my comment. But mankind has polluted the the entire world. To single out one country is offensive when almost all countries are to blame for the current state of the world. The original post was about PFAS...(forever chemicals) maybe going down the drain in a new plastic factory. There are too many ways that every country has polluted the world in the past and up to present day. The original article and other similar articles were referring to the worry of more water contamination from forever chemicals.

If you really want to talk about overall air pollution send me a PM. And maybe electric cars and lithium and cobalt and the pollution that causes. Or the horrors of the cobalt mines themselves. Or coal plants, coal mines, hydroelectric power, nuclear power. I lived beside Douglas Point Nuclear Plant when I was a child. Radioactive proximity to our home made my brain retain billions of facts and figures on one or two or three or 4,5,6,7,8,9, etc. etc. topics. LOL.

Why the animosity? I just pointed out that paper straws contain FCs. I did not say it was the cause of all mans problems with pollution! It was an example. Chill dude.

can we just talk about fishing in general everbody has a different view an just sucks
When you ignore the crap going on and let things happen, don't cry when things get polluted to the point that you can't eat the fish you catch or water you drink.
