Fished Cameron all day yesterday and nothing in the boat. Started at the south end, then the north for crappie. I have no idea what one of those even look like.
Had a Pike follow my rap to the boat but didn’t bite.
Buddy lost a large mouth and something took a swipe at his spinner and all, that was left was the line.

Strong north wind, and cool at times, but it was great just to finally be back on the water.

Thanks for sharing and congrats with the first trip of the season .
It was tough fishing day for me as well on Balsam yesterday.
Very cold week after warm weekend .
It’s going to get better soon .

Picked up this nice little 20” er in the first 15 minutes, didn’t get another for the rest of the day.
Only caught a few small mouth and a perch. Buddy caught a small pike and half dozen smallies.

I am so jealous that you got a fishing trip in, even if the catching wasn't up to expectations. I haven't had the boat in the water since I got back from Florida in December! Momma was injured a few weeks ago and I've been doing the nursing thing since. I can't leave her for very long because she's on a walker and has a cast on her wrist so she's not able to feed herself or prepare anything (even coffee). Not that I'm complaining, but she's improving all the time. Just a matter of time before she's mobile again.

Sorry to hear about your better half being on the mend Lionel. I hope she is better very soon. Good luck next time you get out on the water.

Goshawk, you are doing what any good, true fisherman would do...taking care of your own.
Good on ya!!
You'll make up for it I'm quite sure.. and with Momma's blessing too. \\

Cheers,
